My then boyfriend (now husband) and I were looking for padparadscha sapphires for quite some time. I have stumbled across Gemfix on Pricescope and had my eye on this gorgeous pad even before I was engaged. Because it was out of our price range, I did not tell him which one I wanted. However, Andrew had a few beautiful AGL certified padparadschas, I figured we would make a trip out of it when we went to San Diego.
I was mesmerized the moment Andrew shared his selection of padparascha sapphires. They were beautifully cut and had their own characteristics that made them shine. He has some amazing natural sapphires, some are heated and some are softer in color but others were radiant and vivid. There is definitely sapphires here to appeal to any taste. But the one that stood out was the one I have had my eyes on for the longest time. Luckily my husband agreed that this was his favorite and did not mind spending more (here I am screaming internally). He purchased the pad and he set off to get it customized in a rose gold setting. I am not a person who wears jewelry. In fact, my engagement ring is the only thing I have that is truly special to me. However I never thought a ring would receive so much attention. People often stop and compliment me on how beautiful this engagement ring is…and sometimes they take photos! It’s a pretty crazy! Andrew mentioned he never gets to see the finished product and we promised we would share a photo (sorry it’s been almost two years but we finally got some pretty cute professional wedding photos of it!!). If you are looking for something extremely special to give to your significant other, you should visit Andrew at Gemfix. He has a wonderful selection of sapphires and other gems as well as a few beautiful padparadschas that will stop any stranger dead in their tracks.

I wanted to update you on our wedding rings…the sapphires we purchased were just right for our custom wedding bands…We had rings designed using our tall Tulip Tree on Lake Ontario as the inspiration…it is the tallest tree along a stretch of shoreline, on our property that we use as a guide home when out on the lake and I love to seek out the beautiful tulip blossoms in the canopy of the tree at this time in summer. Here are some pics of the final rings, which you can make out the tulip tree leaf and bud design, as well as our sapphires, which represent the lake. The background of the rings was carved to represent the tree bark itself. Thank you again for helping me find our gems!

My husband and I have been together for 8 years and are about to celebrate 1 year of marriage in June. He proposed to me with this ring in 2015. He designed the ring himself, and had a family friend who is a jeweler, bring his design to life. The second he saw the wonderful selection of Montana Sapphires that Gemfix had, he knew that is where he would be getting the center stone for my ring. I absolutely love the color of this stone, it is the prettiest bluish-green, and changes depending on the light. Although I’ve been wearing the ring for almost 3 years now, I still catch myself staring at it daily! I get so many complements on it, and people always ask what the center stone is.
