Description: So close! But not quite a ruby…I can only describe this sapphire color as “light red”, or even “muted red”; it is not pink, but not the right shade to be classified by GIA as a ruby. In N daylight the color is nearly rasberry, under fluorescent it warms up and resembles a Mahenge spinel; looks fabulous under incandescent where it lights up like a neon sign. Eye clean at 8 inches or so, it has a slightly hazy appearance that gives it glowy quality. Gorgeous cut. Heat only, GIA lab report included.
